BUFFALO, N.Y. – A variety of local viewing parties will give University at Buffalo Bulls football fans the chance to mix familiar chicken wings with the potato theme of the day as fans gather on Famous Idaho Potato Bowl day to cheer for their team and reaffirm their university connection.

What and Where: Plans are underway for an assortment of Famous Idaho Potato Bowl viewing gatherings, some local and some in other cities. The parties range from official-type parties sponsored and hosted by the UB Athletics Development staff to those hosted by local boosters, including one being thrown by the mother of a UB cheerleader.

The local parties registered and listed on the UB Alumni website http://bit.ly/bullsview are at both Santora’s Pizza Pub & Grill, 1402 Millersport Highway in Williamsville, near UB’s North Campus, and 7566 Transit Road, Amherst, across from the Eastern Hills Mall.

There is also a Western New York Southtowns party at Buffalo Wild Wings, 3540 McKinley Parkway, Hamburg.

When: All parties are 5:30-9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 21. The parties include watching the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and broadcast live on ESPN.

Who: UB students, alumni, staff, faculty – and any other Bulls booster who wants to watch the game and connect with other Bulls fans.

Why: To show support for the UB team, to watch the game live side-by-side with other Bulls backers and fans, along with the opportunity to enjoy food and drink following the football potato theme of the football game. Media interested in interviewing fans or filming game day-related activities are encouraged to contact organizers or the University at Buffalo Office of Communications.
