Man Sought in Shooting is Found Dead, Buffalo Police Report

The Buffalo Police Department has reported that Dr. Timothy V. Jorden Jr., a person of interest in the fatal shooting of Jacqueline Wisniewski at the Erie County Medical Center on June 13, has been found dead today, June 15.

Dr. Jorden was a trauma surgeon who provided patient care at ECMC. He had been a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences since 2002. His role involved clinical instruction and supervision of medical students and residents at ECMC.

The University at Buffalo community is shocked and saddened by these events. The university expresses its deepest condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of the victim, to the entire Erie County Medical Center community, and to everybody affected by the tragedy.

The university has made counseling services available to members of the UB community who may have been affected by the tragic events of the past week.
