BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for the Arts Video Production group at the University at Buffalo has won a 2011 New York Emmy Award. The award was received in the Informational/Instructional: Feature/Segment category at the 54th Annual New York Emmy Awards presentation on April 3 in New York City.
The project, titled "Industrial Engineers Make A Difference," features industrial engineers in diverse workplaces such as Hershey's, Disney World and the Kennedy Space Center and is used to educate students about careers in the field. The piece includes several University at Buffalo alumni, and features Patrick S. Sunderlin (BS, Industrial Engineering, '85) who currently serves as director and deputy VP of operations at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando, Fla.
The project was sponsored by the Council of Industrial Engineering Academic Department Heads, which is an affiliate of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. Rakesh Nagi, chair of UB's Department of Industrial Engineering, is a member of the council.
The Center for the Arts Video Production group is a professional television and video outlet dedicated to enhancing communication about the Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo and affiliated groups. It collaborates with a wide range of university clients to produce videos for marketing, development, education and entertainment. Since 2006, the group has been honored with 14 national Telly Awards.
