University Police are investigating an assault that occurred at 4:45 a.m. this morning (April 3, 2011) in the lobby of Goodyear Hall lobby located on the University at Buffalo's South Campus near Bailey Avenue.

The victim, a male UB student, was treated for minor injuries at Erie County Medical Center and has been released.

The suspect was described as a white male with short, dark hair spiked in the front. He was wearing a short-sleeved green plaid shirt and stone-washed jeans. The suspect was believed to be highly intoxicated.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the University Police at 645-2227. Updated information about the incident will be posted, if needed, at http://www.emergency.buffalo.edu.

To protect yourself, be alert to your surroundings and the people around you. When possible, avoid walking alone. Members of the UB community are urged to report any unusual circumstances or suspicious persons and activities to the University Police as soon as possible.
