UB Police to Hold Training Drills on North Campus

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- University at Buffalo Police will hold training sessions for university police officers Jan. 5, 7 and 9 on the North Campus.

Starting at 7:45 a.m. each day, the training will include morning lectures, followed by simulated drills from noon to 4 p.m. The simulated drills will take place in classrooms and hallways on the first and second floor of UB's Natural Sciences building Jan. 5 and 7, and in Bissell Hall on Jan. 9.

Participating police officers will use simulated weapons. Protective gear will be worn for some exercises, according to Richard C. Linde, assistant chief of police at UB.

Signs will be posted throughout the training exercise areas. Approximately 15 UB police officers will participate in each training session. No outside agencies will be involved in these drills.
