BUFFALO, N.Y. -- University at Buffalo neighbors in the University District are invited to "Neighbors' Day" from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday Sept. 6 (Rain date: Sept. 7 from 12 noon to 4 p.m.) -- a free, fun, music and information-filled Block Party and Safety Fair on the UB South (Main St.) Campus lawn in front of Hayes Hall.

There will be free hot dogs, burgers, chips, ice cream, drinks, a live band, demonstrations and a chance for neighbors to meet neighbors, including campus personnel, block club representatives, business owners, police officers, representatives of the Buffalo Mayor's office, and to discuss shared concerns and goals regarding personal protection and safety.

Demonstrations will include an opportunity for guests to try on "drunk goggles" and experience impaired vision and at 6:30 p.m. UB's Environmental Health and Safety Department will set fire to a room to illustrate how quickly a fire spreads and the devastation it can cause.
