BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present Joe Satriani with very special guest Mountain, featuring Leslie West and Corky Laing at 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 in the Mainstage theater in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.

Guitarist Joe Satriani is touring in support of his new 13th studio album, "Professor Satchifunkilus and the Musterion of Rock." Over the course of his illustrious career, he has achieved huge success, selling more than 10 million albums and DVDs worldwide with 13 solo albums (two platinum, four gold) and three platinum DVD's, as well as garnering 14 Grammy nominations.

Over the past two decades, Satriani has traveled the world, playing to sold-out stadiums.

In 1996, he formed G3, a concert tour featuring three instrumental rock guitarists. The G3 tours have performed in the North America, Europe, South and Central America, Australia and Asia and have released three platinum concert DVDs. His 2005 worldwide tour rocked its way through 25 countries, playing 105 shows to over 500,000 people and logging in over 150,000 miles along the way. Satriani wrapped up this global trek in May 2005 by playing to over 20,000 people at three sold-out shows in India.

Over the past 30 years the work of only a few artists can be credited with forging a style and sound that would forever change the face of rock music. The innovative studio and live music of Leslie West and his seminal rock band, Mountain featuring Leslie West and Corky Laing, is one of those elite examples. Their biggest hit, "Mississippi Queen" remains a classic rock radio staple today, and is now featured on the extremely popular "Guitar Hero III" game.
