BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Jerry Newman will discuss his new book, "My Secret Life on the McJob: Lessons From Behind the Counter Guaranteed to Supersize Any Management Style," during a "UB at Noon…Downtown" presentation from noon to 1:15 p.m. June 6 in Chef's Restaurant, 291 Seneca St.

The presentation by Newman, SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor and chair of the Department of Organizations and Human Resources in the University at Buffalo School of Management, will be sponsored by the UB Alumni Association and the School of Management Alumni Association.

His book, released last December, takes readers behind the scenes at Burger King, Wendy's and several other fast-food restaurants and serves up keen insights into management techniques that can be applied to companies with 6,000 locations or just six employees.

Check-in for the presentation will begin at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $15 for the buffet lunch, which will be served promptly at noon, and $33 for lunch and a copy of "My Secret Life on the McJob."

Reservations must be made by June 1 by calling the UB Alumni Association at 645-3312.
