Honorable mention went to Karen Yacobucci of Rochester, who graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in English. She is chief editor for mantis, a small press magazine, and will have some of her recent poetry published in an upcoming issue of the Queen Street Quarterly.

Lowinger also won the Arthur Axelrod Memorial Award. The award was established in 1975 through the English department by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Axelrod, the parents of Arthur Axelrod, an undergraduate in the English department.
