BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A free program for registered nurses interested in advancing their careers will be held from 5-9 p.m. June 9 in the Center for Tomorrow on the University at Buffalo North (Amherst) Campus.
The program, sponsored by the UB School of Nursing, will include a keynote presentation at 6 p.m. by Kevyn Burn, a registered nurse with the Patch Adams' Gesundheit Institute.
Also on the agenda are roundtable discussions about rewards and challenges in advancing a career in nursing and breakout sessions on topics including "Fitting It All In: Returning to School without Giving Up Your Life" and "Is Academia for Me? Assessing Your Professorial Potential."
Pre-registration for the program is required and may be completed by calling 829-3314 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Free parking will be available in the lot across from the Center for Tomorrow.
The program is part of "UBThisSummer," a series of workshops, lectures, summer camps and programs designed to provide educational opportunities for community members of all ages. Information about other programs and activities may be obtained at http://www.UBThisSummer.net
