BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo has cancelled classes and activities for the remainder of the day (Friday, February 1, 2002), effective at 3 p.m. This is in response to a Town of Amherst "State of Emergency" and a municipal travel ban.

Students and staff are advised to use caution in traveling from the campuses, due to hazardous roadway conditions from extensive tree and power line damage.

Essential service employees are expected to work as usual. An early departure for other employees is authorized. Employees are permitted to leave at 3 p.m. or anytime thereafter. Only time absent is required to be charged to leave credit.
