Dansereau Named Fellow of American Psychological Society

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Fred Dansereau, professor of organizational and human resources in the University at Buffalo School of Management, has been named a fellow of the American Psychological Society (APS).

The prestigious scientific society has close to 15,000 members world-wide. Fellowship status is awarded to APS members who have made "sustained outstanding contributions to the science of psychology in the areas of research, teaching, and application."

Dansereau was awarded fellowship status in recognition of his significant and programmatic research on leadership theory and the simultaneous management of individuals, teams and organizations. He is the co-author of four books, the author of more than 60 published articles, the co-editor of an annual book series and has made presentations at professional and scientific conferences around the world.

A resident of Buffalo, he has been a member of the UB School of Management faculty since 1973. He holds both a doctorate and a master's degree in labor and industrial relations from the University of Illinois, and a bachelor's degree in psychology from St. Joseph's University.
