UB Art Department Schedules Senior Thesis Exhibitions

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Department of Art in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University at Buffalo will present its Senior Thesis Show 2001, a series of exhibitions of works by senior art majors, during the month of April in several locations in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.

The first exhibition will run from April 5-15, with an opening reception scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on April 5. The second exhibition will open April 19 with a reception from 5-7 p.m. and will run through April 29. Work will be displayed in the UB Art Gallery, the Art Department Gallery and the Center for the Arts atrium.

The senior thesis is a year-long investigation by students to develop a personal and unique body of work. This exhibition will highlight the work of 44 students in computer art, communication design, illustration, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture, as well as a number of multimedia approaches.

Hours for the Art Department Gallery are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. The UB Art Gallery hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
