Pataki’s Chief Economist To Speak At UB

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- "Cutting Taxes, Creating Jobs: The Decline and Revival of Upstate New York" will be the topic of a presentation by Stephen Kagann, Ph.D., chief economist to Gov. George Pataki, Nov. 10 at UB.

Kagann's lecture at 4 p.m. in 280 Park Hall on the North Campus will focus on his analysis of the causes of Western New York's prolonged economic stagnation and his recommendation to Pataki about what should be done to turn around the local economy.

It will be free and open to the public.

The lecture is part of the second annual Invited Speakers Series, hosted by the Master's Degree and Advanced Certificate in Applied Economics programs in the Department of Economics in the UB College of Arts and Sciences.
