BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Microbial Pathogenesis Graduate Group of the University at Buffalo and the Western New York Branch, American Society of Microbiologists will co-sponsor the 10th Annual Buffalo Conference on Microbial Pathogenesis on April 29 in the Sheraton Inn, 2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga.
The conference will begin at 7:45 a.m. and run until 5 p.m.
Other sponsors include the Pharmaceutical Division of the Bayer Corp. and Wyeth-Lederle Vaccines and Pediatrics, as well as the Office of Conferences in the Disciplines, vice provost for graduate education, Center for Microbial Pathogenesis, Department of Microbiology and Micro Club of the Graduate Student Association, all at UB.
Speakers will be Peter Palese, Ph.D., professor and chair, Department of Microbiology, Mount Sinai School of Medicine; Mercio A. Pereira, M.D., Ph.D., professor, Department of Pathology and Medicine, Tufts University Medical School; Virginia L. Miller, Ph.D., associate professor, Department of Molecular Microbiology, Washington University School of Medicine, and Vojo Deretic, Ph.D., associate professor, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Michigan.
There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion after each presentation. There also will be two poster sessions.
