Two UB Students Awarded Goldwater Scholarships

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Two University at Buffalo students have been selected as national recipients of a Goldwater Scholarship Award.

They are Srinivas Raghu of East Amherst, a junior majoring in chemistry, and Cynthia D. Rudin of Williamsville, a junior majoring in mathematics and music.

A total of 282 national scholars were selected on the basis of academic merit by the Goldwater Foundation.

The scholarships cover tuition, fees, books and room and board up to $7,500 per year.

The purpose of the Goldwater Scholarship Awards is to foster and encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering.
