Shippam Named to Senior Director Post In Office of University Development

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo Office of University Development has appointed Michael J. Shippam as senior director of development.

Shippam, who brings more than 15 years of development experience to UB, will be responsible for management of several key programs within the university development office, including the annual appeal, leadership gift clubs, and special and regional giving initiatives.

Formerly vice president of sales and marketing at Honorcraft Inc. in Stoughton, Mass., Shippam designed marketing and sales strategies for clients within the organization's North American territory that generated over $2.25 million in annual sales, as well as coordinated product development with Honorcraft's production management. He also had served as a marketing manager at the organization.

Prior to his positions at Honorcraft, Shippam was director of sales and marketing for Outreach Affiliates in New York City, and served in development capacities at Rutgers University and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Shippam has been a roundtable speaker on donor recognition at Council for the Advancement and Support of Education conferences and served as affiliate representative on the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy Region III cabinet.

Currently residing in Williamsville, Shippam received a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Elmira College.
