Prezio Elected Fellow of American College of Nuclear Physicians

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Joseph A. Prezio, M.D., clinical professor and chair of the Department of Nuclear Medicine in the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, has been elected a fellow of the American College of Nuclear Physicians, a national organization of nuclear medicine physicians.

The designation of fellow is attained through rigorous review of a nuclear physician's scholarly and community activities, voluntary continuing education and special certification by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.

A UB faculty member since 1971, Prezio also serves as director of the Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging center, a cooperative effort between the UB medical school and the Buffalo VA Medical Center.

Prezio received a bachelor's degree in biology from Manhattan College and a medical degree cum laude from Georgetown University.

He resides in Buffalo.
