This award requires university nomination or interview and cannot be applied to directly. Students must work with the Office of Fellowships and Scholarships and meet university deadlines.
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program will annually identify a group of 100 high-achieving students from around the world with demonstrated leadership and civic commitment to receive full funding to pursue a wide-ranging graduate education at Stanford, with the goal of developing a new generation of global leaders. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars is the largest fully endowed scholars program in the world.
For Knight-Hennessy Scholars, they look primarily at three areas:
1. Independence of Thought
2. Purposeful Leadership
3. Civic Mindset
Applicants must apply simultaneously for admission to a specific department at Stanford and the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship, at https://knight-hennessy.stanford.edu/.
A UB faculty committee will review the nominee’s application and determine if the student will be endorsed to the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship Program.
