James C. Gaither Junior Fellows Program

This award requires university nomination or interview and cannot be applied to directly. Students must work with the Office of Fellowships and Scholarships and meet university deadlines.

Overview

The James C. Gaither Junior Fellows Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is designed to provide a substantive work experience for students who have a serious career interest in the area of international affairs. Students who are selected will be hired to work as employees at the Carnegie Endowment in Washington, DC on a full time basis for a period of one year.

  • External Deadline: Jan. 15

Eligibility Requirements

  • These fellowships are available to graduating seniors or alumni who have graduated within the past academic year and have not yet started graduate studies.
  • Superior research and writing abilities.
  • Significant coursework and internships related to discipline of interest.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States for a full 12 months.

Students interested in being nominated by the University at Buffalo must first contact the Office of Fellowships and Scholarships to request application forms and information.

Selection Process

Students who complete all application materials will be considered for nomination as a Gaither Fellow. A committee will select UB’s nominees.
