Postdoctoral Scholars

The Office of Postdoctoral Scholars provides a formal communication link among postdoctoral scholars, faculty and university administration.
The Postdoctoral Research Symposium showcases the research done by postdoctoral scholars through a research abstract/poster competition and a three-minute oral presentation competition.
This seven-week seminar series is offered exclusively to postdoctoral scholars, on various topics in teaching and learning. These sessions cover everything from how to engage and motivate students to how to utilize technology to increase student learning. The seminar series is held during the spring semester.
Established by the Office of Postdoctoral Scholars in 2009, the Distinguished Postdoc Mentor Award is awarded on an annual basis to faculty members who excel in the mentoring of postdoctoral scholars. A good mentor not only teaches their mentees but also serves as an advocate, advisor and positive role model during the period of direct training and most often, in the following years.
