Postdoctoral Research Symposium

Every June, the Graduate’s School’s Office of Postdoctoral Scholars hosts the annual Postdoctoral Scholars Research Symposium.

About the Postdoctoral Research Symposium

The Postdoctoral Research Symposium showcases the research done by postdoctoral scholars through a research abstract/poster competition and a three-minute oral presentation competition. The top three abstract/poster presentations and the top two three-minute presentations will be recognized at the event.

The annual Distinguished Postdoc Mentor Award will also be given at this event.

Who can participate?

Participants at this event must be postdoctoral scholars at one of the following institutions:

  • The University at Buffalo.
  • Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Care Center.
  • Research Institute on Addictions.
  • Hauptman-Woodward Institute.

Sample Event Schedule

12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Poster setup
1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Award for Distinguished Postdoc Mentor is given.

 

Three-minute presentations: 12 postdoctoral scholars will present their work in three minutes using only one static slide.

2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Poster judging, presentations and reception.
3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Postdoctoral awards for abstract/posters (three awards) and three-minute presentation (two awards).
