Eighth Annual Postdoctoral Research Symposium

The Graduate’s School’s Office of Postdoctoral Scholars hosted the Eighth Annual Postdoctoral Scholars Research Symposium on June 10, 2016, in the Center for the Arts. Awards recognizing the top three abstract/poster presentations were recognized at the event, as well as the annual Distinguished Postdoc Mentor Award. New this year, participants competed in a three-minute presentation on their poster, with awards given for the top two presentations.

Participants at this event included postdoctoral scholars at UB, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Research Institute on Addictions and the Hauptman-Woodward Institute.


2016 Winners

The 2016 Distinguished Postdoc Mentor Award winner is Mira Edgerton, DDS, PhD, Research Professor, Department of Oral Biology.

Three Minute Presentations:
- 1st Place:  Ying Liu, Electrical Engineering
- 2nd Place:  Jaime Orejas, Chemistry

Poster Competition:
- 1st Place:  Christopher Rates, Center for Educational Innovation
- 2nd Place:  George Nimako, Pharmacy Practice
- 3rd Place:  Thomas Hohle, Biochemistry
