Program Description

Programs in mathematics education offer opportunities to study how students learn mathematics through instruction, focused on problem solving, understanding, reasoning and mathematical communication. In addition, students in programs in early childhood or childhood education, may choose to concentrate studies in mathematics. Certification titles include: Initial Certification (Certificate of Advanced Study; grades seven through 12), Initial/Professional (Initial Certification combined with a master's degree; grades five through 12), and Professional (master's degree; grades seven through 12 or grades five through 12).
