BUFFALO, N.Y. — Hundreds of alumni will gather Tuesday night to hear the latest updates on the University at Buffalo’s $650 million fundraising campaign and to tour the new downtown home of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

UB has raised $14 million since April, when it announced Boldly Buffalo: The Campaign for UB. With previous commitments of $451 million, the university has now secured $465 million toward the campaign, which is the largest in the history of UB and the State University of New York system.

To date, 61,226 donors have made pledged than more than 161,000 gifts toward the campaign. Of those donors, 112 have made gifts of $1 million or more. And 10,568 are alumni who made their first-ever gifts to UB. Donor gifts and pledges have supported 223 endowed student scholarships and fellowships, and 22 endowed chair and professor positions.

At the event Tuesday, UB leaders will provide additional details on the campaign, and how it is delivering transformative changes to the university, the Buffalo Niagara region and the world.

Who: Roughly 500 alumni are expected.

When: 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Where: The downtown home of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, 855 Main St., Buffalo.

Following Tuesday’s event, UB will be hosting alumni gatherings in Florida, New York City, Phoenix and Washington, D.C. International events are planned in Beijing, Jakarta, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipai and Toronto.
