“Gov. Cuomo’s Bio Life Sciences initiative will be a transformative program ensuring New York’s leadership and commitment to scientific research,” said University at Buffalo President Satish K. Tripathi. “A thriving biomedical research ecosystem centered in the academic community is critical for the health and well-being of our state. At UB, we look forward to competing for these research funds. I want to thank the governor for his leadership and ensuring that this critical program was a priority in his budget."

Cuomo for his vision and commitment, through this budget, to Bio Life Sciences and scientific research,” said Norma Nowak, executive director of UB's New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences. “This new initiative will enable researchers at UB and other medical research centers to tap into resources critical to continuing their breakthrough work and keep New York at the leading edge of science. We are also thrilled with the continued support for the Centers of Excellence program, enabling us to accelerate discoveries and positively impact company growth."
