Emerging Choreographers Showcase
is a dance concert of new works by advanced-level UB student choreographers. The showcase, directed by Associate Professor Melanie Aceto, features ten new works by choreographers Hayley Bjorn, Jessica Caraciolo, Madison Dixon, Sydney Hale, Rachel Hospers, Lilibeth Javier, Rachel Latke, Colleen McLenigan, and Madison Rutherford. These works are inspired by wide ranging themes including nature, personal acceptance, the fusion of jazz styles and the physicality of two bodies moving in partnership. These pieces also capitalize on the unique layout of the Katharine Cornell Theatre and incorporate a variety of props, including a large window frame and a giant science table; the diversity of dance styles and spatial awareness create an exciting performance that challenges conventional perspectives. Student lighting designers include Hayden Harter and Emily Williams.

The UB Department of Theatre & Dance 2016-17 season takes inspiration from one of the five named UB 2020 themes, Humanity.

Tickets: Purchased at the door 1 hour before show time. For more information call 716-645-6897 or visit www.theatredance.buffalo.edu.
