Buffalo, N.Y. - The University at Buffalo Theatre & Dance Department will present Zodiaque Dance Company from October 19-23, 2016. Performance times are: Wednesday-Saturday at 7:30pm; Sunday at 2:00pm. All performances will be held in the Drama Theatre in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. Tickets are $20, Students (any school) & Seniors $10.

Directed by Kerry Ring, this fall season’s Zodiaque Dance Company concert demonstrates fluency in a wide range of techniques and styles with a deep comprehension of abstract artistry and emotional nuance. The Company continues to be an innovative force, supporting its creative talent while presenting repertory by respected dance makers. For this 43rd fall concert, Zodiaque presents works by UB faculty members who include:  Melanie Aceto, Kathleen Golde, Shelley Hain, and Kerry Ring. Bessie Award-winner Jennifer Nugent, former Bill T. Jones dancer, created a new work during a week-long residency. Her residency, which also included master classes for UB Dance Majors and the general public, was supported by the UB Creative Arts Initiative. Other contributions include works by: Zodiaque alumnus and artist in residence Jon Lehrer; Brooklyn based choreographer Jennifer Golonka, local hip hop artist James Levy; with all works being captured by lighting designer Alison Weinberger. This concert marks a change in the story of Zodiaque Dance Company, as Tom Ralabate and Tressa Gorman Crehan step away from their roles as Directors after many successful years. Their imprint on the company’s values and organization is clear, and we recognize their significant artistic and educational contributions to the Company.

The UB Department of Theatre & Dance 2016-17 season takes inspiration from one of the five named UB 2020 themes, Humanity.
