BUFFALO, N.Y. — The newest ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9001 quality standard is the focus of two courses presented by the University at Buffalo Center for Industrial Effectiveness (TCIE) as part of its professional development fall schedule.

The ISO 9001:2015 standard features an altered structure and new requirements — including the concept of risk-based thinking — to reflect how increased globalization has changed the way business is done. The two training courses are:

  • ISO 9001:2015 Transition Training — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 15 at the Hyatt Place, 5020 Main St., Amherst. This training is for anyone who is already familiar with the ISO 9001:2008 Standard and is involved in transitioning their company to ISO 9001:2015.

  • Other course topics for the fall lineup include continuous improvement methodologies, manufacturing technician operations, and finance. They range from full-day seminars to a 9-month certification program. Registration is on a first-serve basis, with the deadline being one week before the respective start date.
