UB Law School panel to examine fulfilling campaign promises within U.S. governing system

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Five University at Buffalo law professors will discuss whether the current presidential candidates can fulfill their campaign promises within the present government system at a program to be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, in 107 O’Brian Hall on the UB North Campus.

Panelists will be James A. Gardner, interim dean of the UB Law School; Anthony O’Rourke, associate professor of law; Matthew Steilen, associate professor of law; and Rick Su, professor of law.

Topics will include immigration reform, mass incarceration, campaign finance reform, race and economic inequality, adopting legislation and constitutional amendments.

Also joining the panel is Meredith Kolsky Lewis, professor of law and vice dean for international and graduate programs, who will discuss international trade issues.

The panel discussion is sponsored by the UB Law School Buffalo Human Rights Center.
