Free health screenings and family fun at first Health Mall Community Day

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine will co-sponsor the first Erie County Health Mall (ECHM) Health Fair and Community Day.

The event, free and open to the public, is scheduled for Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Erie County Health Mall at 1500 Broadway.

The fair will include tours of Buffalo Fire Department trucks; a mobile petting zoo with exotic animals; appearances by UB Dudley Dinosaur, Victor E. Bull and Fidelosaurus; and additional games and prizes for children.

Guests may also receive free health screenings, some of which include pregnancy, mammography, dental, adult depression, and child social and emotional screenings.

Blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index, bone density and vascular screenings are available by appointment. To schedule, call 447-6205.

The ECHM was formed in 2014 to provide essential medical, dental, behavioral health and education services to under-served communities.

The Health Fair and Community Day is sponsored by UB Dental, Lake Shore Behavioral Health, St. Vincent Health Center, Mid-Erie Counseling and Treatment Services, and Erie County.
