BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo will kick off its 2013-14 Distinguished Speakers Series with a lecture by theoretical physicist and futurist Michio Kaku at 8 p.m. in Alumni Arena on the North Campus.

Kaku, the Henry Semat Professor of Theoretical Physics at City College of New York, is the co-founder of string field theory and continues Einstein’s search for a “Theory of Everything” that will unify the four fundamental forces of the universe.

A popularizer of science, Kaku is the author of bestselling books “Physics of the Future,” “Physics of the Impossible” and “Einstein’s Cosmos.” He hosted BBC’s “Time” series and hosts the weekly radio programs “Science Fantastic” and “Explorations in Science,” both heard on stations across the country.

During the program, audio and/or video photography, as well as still photography, will be limited to the first five minutes of his lecture.

Working media may reserve tickets for the program by contacting Christine Vidal in the UB Office of Communications at 645-4607 or vidal@buffalo.edu no later than noon on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Reserved tickets may be picked up at the will-call window in Alumni Arena prior to the program. Media may need to show press credentials in order to be admitted to the program.
