Do Dental X-rays Cause Brain Tumors? UB Experts Available to Discuss

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Experts from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine are available to discuss the recent study conducted by researchers at Yale School of Medicine that finds that regardless of age, those who had "bitewing" dental x-rays yearly or more frequently were at 40 - 90 percent higher risk to be diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Dean of the dental school, Michael Glick, DMD, will be on hand Friday, April 13 from 10 - 11:30 a.m.

Maureen Donley, clinical associate professor and director of radiology, UB Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences, will also be available.

Both will address:

- An overview of the study

- The different kinds of dental x-rays, past and present

- Who might be at risk

- Questions to ask your dentist
