BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) will hold a new website launch ceremony from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the sixth-floor auditorium of its facility at 465 Washington St. in downtown Buffalo.

Members of the community are invited to explore this new and unique educational tool and meet the EOC Ambassadors. The launch ceremony is free and open to the public, and will introduce EOC's recently redesigned website and recognize the EOC students featured on the site.

The Educational Opportunity Center's new web portal, http://eoc.buffalo.edu/, will give students the ability to quickly and easily learn about EOC, the tuition-free academic and vocational training programs it has to offer, its application/enrollment process, the class selection process and the support services it makes available to students.

Students can easily obtain information about faculty members, access to resources, guides to important contact information and current class schedules. The site also features videos of students sharing their experiences at the Educational Opportunity Center, and a streamlined feature enables students to apply online.

In addition, the site offers a video preview and updates regarding the new EOC campus currently under construction, allowing users to check in for regular construction updates and to follow the progress being made on the new building.

"This website serves as an exciting prelude of things to come here at EOC," says Danis J. Gehl, associate executive director/director of education at EOC. "The new user-friendly features and easily accessible information represent a wonderful introduction to the new experience students will find at our new home in 2013."

The new site was designed by Albarella Media, an award-winning multimedia production and consulting firm based in Buffalo.
