BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present Keb' Mo' Band on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre in the Center for the Arts, UB North Campus.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Keb' Mo's music is a living link to the seminal Delta blues that traveled up the Mississippi River and across the expanse of America before evolving into a universally celebrated art form. His distinctive version of the blues encompasses multiple eras and genres, including pop, rock, folk and jazz. It also owes much to contemporary music's singer-songwriter movement, encompassing his longtime friends and collaborators Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne, as well as the spirit of blues godfather Robert Johnson.

Keb' Mo's new album, The Reflection, is his first new studio album in five years. This new collection of songs is the product of an important period of personal and professional growth -- in the time it took Keb' Mo' to write and complete the album, he had played hundreds of dates around the world, started a new family, and built a state-of-the-art home studio. "I didn't want to let it go until I had something that I was proud to share with the public," explains Keb' Mo', "It's the culmination of all of my influences throughout my career."

About Keb' Mo's laid-back take on the blues, the Associated Press has said, "With bluesy guitars, groovy Hammond organs and Keb' Mo's rich, smoky voice, The Reflection is a warm, mellow ride from start to finish. Like a smooth-jazz station all its own, The Reflection is never rowdy or boastful, it just cruises along at an easy pace, like a Sunday morning when you've got nowhere to go, as Mo' muses on identity, fidelity, love and faith.

Keb' Mo' is a three time Grammy winner for Best Contemporary Blues Album and won an additional Grammy for his collaboration with the Dixie Chicks. His songs have been covered by such artists as BB King, Wynonna, Joe Cocker, Buddy Guy, Robert Palmer and Tom Jones. Currently, in addition to release of his new album, The Reflection, Keb' Mo' is the composer for the TNT television show "Memphis Beat" and performs the show's theme song.
