A Western New York family whose lives were forever changed when their son was diagnosed with pediatric liver disease has raised $150,000 to support research into the disease by University at Buffalo pediatric gastroenterologists Susan S. Baker, MD, and Robert D. Baker, MD.

On Feb. 4 at 12:30 p.m. in Room 401 of the Biomedical Research Building in the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences on the UB South Campus, Chad and Debbie Glaser of East Amherst will tour the UB pediatric gastroenterology lab.

The Glasers' son, Ethan, was treated by the Bakers at Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo for a rare, life-threatening disease that damages the liver in newborns; he eventually received a transplant from his father, a living donor.

To help other families going through this devastating disease, the Glasers started Ski4e, to raise money for research into pediatric liver disease.
