BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Buffalo Police are investigating a strong-armed robbery that occurred on Nov. 19, 2009, at about 10:25 p.m. on Main Street at Englewood Avenue in the City of Buffalo.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5-feet 4-inches tall, wearing dark clothing, and a white and gray knit cap. The suspect may have followed the victim from the Main Circle bus stop down to Main Street, where he forcibly stole the victim's purse.
Buffalo Police also have informed University Police that they have had several robberies reported, unrelated to the Nov. 19 incident, where the victims were all wearing large gold hoop earrings and have asked that this information be shared with the university community as well.
Members of the university community are urged to remember to stay alert to their surroundings, to always travel with other people and to report any unusual circumstances or suspicious persons and activities to the University Police as soon as possible.
