BUFFALO, N.Y. -- "Scholars at Muse," the popular lecture series developed by the University at Buffalo Humanities Institute and riverrun, continues on Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. in the Muse Restaurant of the Albright Knox Art Gallery.

The series presents free talks by and discussion with UB Humanities Institute research fellows about their current scholarship in the humanities. Wine and light refreshments are available and the restaurant will be open for dinner following the presentation.

Friday's speaker will be Damien Keane, assistant professor of English at UB. His talk is titled "Ireland and the Problem of Information." It is also the title of his book manuscript, which poses questions about modern Irish writing, the administration of information, the stakes of Ireland's modernization and implications for the state of the humanities today.

Keane teaches and publishes in the areas of 19th- and 20th-century Irish writing and transnational late modernism.

The 2009-10 Scholars at Muse series will continue through April, 2010.
