Investigation Ongoing in the Death of UB Student

The University at Buffalo is continuing its investigation of the death of a 19-year-old freshman on March 4, and will provide updates when there is more information to report.

Jonah Dreskin of Ardsley, N.Y., was found on Core Road on UB's North (Amherst) Campus around midnight Wednesday. The cause of death is undetermined at this time. UB Police say Jonah may have been hit by a vehicle or fallen from a residence hall between 11:30 p.m. and midnight.

The university is providing as much comfort and assistance as it can to the Dreskin family during this very difficult time.

The university will continue to provide counseling services to students who may need to talk about this tragic occurrence on our campus. Students who may need support are encouraged to call the UB Counseling Services at (716) 645-2720.

UB Police are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of Core Rd. between Spaulding and Wilkeson Residence Halls to call 645-2222.
