More than 30 of the University at Buffalo's best and brightest inventors will be honored Thursday, March 5 at the UB Inventors and Entrepreneurs Reception to be held at 4 p.m. in the Center for Tomorrow on UB's North Campus.

The twenty-one patents issued in 2008 and eleven commercial licenses being celebrated are for a broad range of inventions, from nanoparticles that harvest solar energy to an air purification system that kills nasty toxins to an antibody that could stop breast cancer in its tracks.

Several of the inventions will be on display.

Robert J. Genco, UB vice provost and director of the Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach (UB STOR) and Kenneth M. Tramposch, associate vice president for research will make opening remarks. Each inventor will receive a plaque at the presentation.

Good visuals! Good feature story!

Formal program begins at 4:30.
