Singing Legend Tony Bennett To Perform at UB

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will welcome Tony Bennett at 8 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the Mainstage Theatre in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus. The concert will be presented by The Derico of East Amherst Corporation.

Bennett is an artist who moves the hearts and touches the souls of audiences. He's the singer's singer and has received high praise from his colleagues through the years, including Frank Sinatra who stated unequivocally, "Tony Bennett is the best singer in the business." He is an international treasure who was honored by the United Nations with their "Citizen of the World" award, which aptly describes the scope of his accomplishments.

With more than 50 million records sold world-wide and platinum and gold albums to his credit, Bennett has received 15 Grammy Awards including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

The concert is presented by The Derico of East Amherst Corporation and its employees, a locally owned 12 outlet McDonald's organization. Concert proceeds will benefit the families of the Buffalo Ronald McDonald House.

Since opening its doors to families of seriously ill or injured children more than 24 years ago, the Ronald McDonald House of Buffalo has provided comfortable, affordable lodging for 17,000 families from Western New York and around the world. The Ronald McDonald House is a family's "home-away-from-home" when their child requires specialized medical care at a Buffalo hospital.

Tickets for Tony Bennett are $150 and $125.
