BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Brenda L. Perez of Buffalo, a second-year student in the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, has been selected to serve as student membership liaison for the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for the 1998-99 academic year.

As the AAFP's official UB representative, Perez is responsible for working directly with other medical students who have an interest in family practice, as well as promoting the specialty of family practice to fellow students. Each year the AAFP selects one student from each medical school in the United States to serve as student membership liaison for his or her campus.

The AAFP is a national medical organization for the specialty of family practice representing 85,000 family physicians, family-practice residents and medical students nationwide.
