BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Mary H. Rappole, a family nurse practitioner, has been named coordinator of the University at Buffalo School of Nursing's bachelor's-degree distance-learning program in Jamestown.
The program, headquartered at Jamestown Community College, is designed for registered nurses who wish to acquire a four-year nursing degree.
UB uses distance-learning technology to transmit instruction between the Buffalo and Jamestown campuses. The system is interactive, allowing students and faculty in both locations to see and speak with each other. Eighteen students are enrolled in the Jamestown program.
Rappole has extensive clinical and administrative experience. She has held positions as a school nurse teacher, recovery room nurse at W.C.A. Hospital in Jamestown, and staff nurse and branch manager for the Visiting Nurses Association of Western New York.
She also has worked for Hospice Chautauqua County and taught at B.O.C.E.S. of Erie, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties. She most recently served as a family nurse practitioner in the family-planning clinic of the Chautauqua County Department of Health.
Rappole holds both bachelor's and master's degrees from the UB school of nursing.
She lives in Jamestown.
