BUFFALO, N.Y. -- "Molecular Wellness" will be discussed by physiology expert Frank W. Booth in the 10th annual J. Warren Perry Lecture at 4 p.m. on Oct. 9 in the Screening Room in the Center for the Arts on the University at Buffalo North (Amherst) Campus. Booth will review the integration of health-care research spanning the fields of molecular biology and epidemiology.

A reception will follow the lecture, which is sponsored by the UB School of Health Related Professions.

Booth, an editorial board advisor on molecular biology for Exercise and Sport Sciences Reviews, is a Robert Greer Professor of Biomedical Sciences in the Department of Integrative Biology and Pharmacology in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas at Houston. He also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Applied Physiology and is an editorial board member and advisor for other professional journals on physiology.

He received a doctorate in molecular biology from the University of Iowa, and a master's degree in physiology and bachelor's degree in biology from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

The Perry lecture began in 1988 with a gift from J. Warren Perry, founding dean of the School of Health Related Professions from 1966 until his retirement in 1977. Perry's extensive work in the field of allied health earned him recognition in "Who's Who in the World," "Who's Who in the U.S.," and "Who's Who in Medicine and Health Care."

Poster presentations of research by health related professions faculty members are planned prior to the lecture from 2-4 p.m. in the lobby outside the Screening Room in the Center for the Arts. Faculty will be available to discuss the research.

The lecture is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.
