BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Minority college students and graduates interested in applying to graduate school are invited to attend the second annual Minority Student Graduate School Awareness Conference, to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 10 in the University Inn and Conference Center, 2401 North Forest Road, Amherst.

The event, which will be hosted by the University at Buffalo, will be free of charge and will include breakfast and lunch.

It will feature workshops, speakers and college and university representatives who will provide information and answer questions.

The conference is funded through grants from the National Science Foundation to the State University of New York Alliance for Minority Participation Consortium (SUNY AMP) and the New York State Department of Education's Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP).

A goal of SUNY AMP and CSTEP is to increase the number of minority students who are historically underrepresented in various professions.

Anyone interested in participating in the conference may call 645-2234 for reservations. The deadline is Oct. 2.
