UB's Eoc Wins Statewide Award For Outstanding Achievement

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) at the University at Buffalo has earned a statewide award for "outstanding achievement in occupational education/guidance in transitioning students into the workforce."

EOC placed third in the citation category in the annual awards program of the New York State chapter of the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security (IAPES).

The category recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of employment security, including occupational education, helping youth transition to the workforce, bettering health or welfare of workers, service to the disabled or other fields.

IAPES is an international professional organization involved in employment and training.

EOC provides education in a variety of areas, including business and computer technology, English as a second language, child-care training, academic vocational preparation and GED, as well as programs for emergency medical technician, dental office assistant, occupational degree preparation and nurse assistant.
