UB Sets Oct. 18 Open House For Prospective Undergraduate Students

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo will hold its first “Discover UB!” fall undergraduate open house, featuring workshops, tours and special presentations, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.

Following registration in the lobby of Alumni Arena on the North (Amherst) Campus, UB President William R. Greiner will welcome prospective undergraduates and their families in a program at 9:30 a.m. in the Mainstage in the Center for the Arts on the North Campus. Also speaking will be Barbara J. Ricotta, interim dean of students, and Regina S. Toomey, director of admissions.

The open house will feature walking tours of the North Campus, a bus tour of the South (Main Street) Campus and tours of residence halls in Ellicott Complex on the North Campus.

Information sessions on admissions, financial aid and academic advising will be held every 45 minutes from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Special programs will be offered by the Faculty of Arts and Letters, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Architecture and Planning, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, School of Health Related Professions, School of Management, School of Nursing and School of Pharmacy.

Prospective students and their families will be the university’s guests at the football game between UB and the University of Massachusetts at 1:30 p.m. in University Stadium on the North Campus.

The open house also is open to the community.
