Toomey Named Director of Admissions At UB

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Regina S. Toomey of Williamsville has been named director of admissions at the University at Buffalo.

Toomey, who had served as interim director of admissions and interim assistant vice president for student affairs since November 1996, will continue as interim assistant vice president.

A UB staff member since 1977, she has served as associate director of admissions, associate director for application processing and assistant to the director for registration.

Before coming to UB, she served as assistant registrar at Canisius College.

Toomey is a member of the State University of New York College Admissions Professionals, the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Offices.

She is the past chair of the Western New York Consortium’s Common Recruitment Committee and was a participant at the Harvard University Summer Institute on College Admissions.

Her university service includes membership in the Undergraduate College General Assembly and the Professional Staff Senate, and serving as the admissions office representative on the Faculty Senate Admissions Committee.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in French and a master’s degree in college counseling and student personnel, both from UB.
