BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The sky is falling? An omen of the end of the planet?
Charles H.V. Ebert, Ph.D., SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of Geography at the University at Buffalo and a nationally known expert on natural disasters, will discuss "Asteroids: A Menace From Space" at the next UB at Sunrise breakfast lecture, to be held at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, in the Center for Tomorrow on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.
Ebert will discuss how a collision between this planet and one of the asteroids that cross its orbit may have been responsible for drastic changes in the evolution of life on Earth.
The cost of the program, which includes breakfast and the lecture, is $10 for UB Alumni Association members and $12 for all others.
It is sponsored and supported by the UB Alumni Association, UB News Services, and the offices of Publications and Conferences and Special Events at UB.
