BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Margaret H. MacGillivray, M.D., professor and chief of the Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Pediatrics in the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, has been elected president-elect for 1994 and president for 1995 of the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society.
Since 1992, MacGillivray has headed the Endocrinology Laboratory and the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Children's Hospital of Buffalo.
The society's members elected her at their annual meeting in Seattle last month. She has been a member of the society, composed of more than 700 pediatric endocrinologists from the U.S., Canada and Mexico, since 1971.
MacGillivray joined the UB faculty in 1964 and has been a professor in the Department of Pediatrics since 1976. She has been on staff at Children's Hospital since 1969.
She has authored or co-authored more than 90 research articles for publication and more than 80 articles for presentation at scholarly meetings.
She was listed in Woodward's & White's "The Best Doctors in America" in 1992-93 and 1994-95.
MacGillivray is a resident of Buffalo.
